
Brent Pasternack, CFA is the Head of Private Credit Research at NPC. Brent is responsible for leading the private credit manager sourcing, ongoing due diligence, and selection efforts.
Brent has more than 20 years of financial services and asset management industry experience, including over 15 years of alternative investment manager research experience.
Previously, Brent was a Senior Investment Officer on the Alternative Credit team at NYC Retirement Systems, where he led the private credit manager research, due diligence, and allocation efforts.
Prior to joining NYC Retirement Systems, Brent was the Head of Event Driven and Credit Strategies at Russell Investments. In his role, he led the hedge fund manager research efforts for the firm’s discretionary hedge fund and multi-asset portfolios.
Before Russell Investments, Brent was a Senior Due Diligence Analyst at Mariner Investment Group. He was responsible for hedge fund due diligence and sourcing new portfolio management teams for a seeding and incubation mandate as part of a joint venture with a public pension fund client.
Brent also previously held roles as a Senior Due Diligence Analyst at Schonfeld Group and as an Investment Analyst at General Motors Asset Management. Brent started his professional career at UBS Wealth Management as a Business and Performance Analyst.
Brent received his full-time Master of Business Administration in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Brent is a CFA Charterholder.
